Sunday 24th April was our first Tutor of Note for the year, “The Twisted Log Cabin” with Therese Hylton.

What a good day we all had. Therese was a great teacher, with clear instructions and along with her daughter willing to give us all the help we needed.

It was good to see that everybody was prepared on the day and had all their pieces cut as we were advised. I must say that being prepared really did help me with the construction of the blocks in the class.

We worked through the morning to lunch with everybody well on their way to completing a row of Twisted Log Cabin blocks. Continuing after lunch with everyone completing a row or at least a full half. See the attached photos.

The sense of achievement in being able to take home a completed piece of work is what made the day for me. I am now keen to make another six rows to make a quilt top.

Being given the opportunity to learn a new process / technique, polishing up your skills and working with people of all levels of experience willing to share their knowledge is what makes being a member of the Guild.

I would like to thank Jann for organising the day and a big thanks to Jocelyne & Elaine for all their help on the day.
