Our July meeting was very busy and very well attended, with 117 members and 3 visitors joining this special occasion. Our special theme was the Biggest Morning Tea - tables were decorated and the gold coin raffle, a silent auction and quilt raffle raised funds for cancer research.

Considering bids for the Silent Auction
Ro Bruhn spoke to the group and shared a number of her wonderful pieces along with the inspirational story of her journey as a textile and mixed media artist. Some examples of her work are shown in the gallery below this section. More information can be found at Ro's website (robruhn.blogspot.com) or at www.facebook.com/robruhnart.
Thanks to the many members and their friends who knitted squares to be made into rugs to be sent to Nepal. Helen Osborne has made an enormous contribution to Caring and Sharing Quilts over many years and the members were delighted to see her receive the Margaret McGregor Award.
July's Show and Tell featured some of the quilts completed at the recent Caring and Sharing Quilt day, as well as many of the wonderful quilts made by members.
Next months meeting will also be very busy as it is our Guild's Annual General Meeting. See you on August 1st....
What a fabulous idea to have a weekly newsletter. I am still a member of the guild but have moved back to Tasmania so can’t attend meetings very often. It is a great way for me to keep in touch and therefore not isolated.
Keep up the amazing job, well done ?
Hi Sonja, So glad you like what we’re doing. Our aim is to create an online community so we can stay in touch with remote members.
Keep reading! And don’t forget the forums where you can ask questions.
Cheers, Leslie
great to have weekly updates- well done
Hi Elaine, we thought it would be a good idea to keep members informed so they don’t have to keep checking. See you soon, Leslie
