Easter Sunday saw 13 members at the Box Hill Senior Citizens Centre for a day of sewing and chatting.

Elaine hard at work

This was my first time at the Sew, Art and Chat. The hall is extremely spacious with tables to spread your work out. Elaine spent her day basting a quilt for her son (with a little help from others). It is made out of soft Italian wool suit fabric. It will be very cozy.

Those who participated in the challenge brought 12 inch quilts with their interpretation of the object for the month – apple. I think you will agree from the photos below that we had some very creative results.

Helen's Creation

Helen brought her completed quilt top made up of blocks she received from the block exchange last year. A stunning example of what can be done with a variety of colors and styles.

Several ladies spent their time sewing blocks for Caring and Sharing. Others worked on individual projects. All in all, a very productive and enjoyable day. Join us at the next Sew, Art and Chat scheduled for May 25! The challenge for art quilters is a 12 inch quilt using the image "egg".
