The September meeting was attended by 99 enthusiastic and interested members. September's shop was Patchwork Passion which tempted members with a wide range of quilt patterns, fabrics, templates and more. Examples can be seen in the photos below, and for more detail consult the website - www.patchworkpassion.com.au
Michelle Yeo was our speaker for this meeting. Michelle specializes in reproduction quilts inspired by quilts of the past, and she shared many items from her extensive collection of quilts. In addition, Michelle described the processes involved in designing and developing a range of fabrics. Her most recently published range is displayed in the diamond sample shown in the photo library below. Michelle also shared samples from the range currently in production. Members had the opportunity to examine and purchase her range of patterns and templates. Her website www.michelleyeoquiltdesigns.com provides more information.
The President on behalf of members thanked Val Musgrave for her work with Caring and Sharing quilts over many years. Lynette Kirby was recognised for her valuable work with Guild communications, and Maureen Mackie and Mary Phillips were thanked for their organisation of the recent bus trip.
Shown below are examples shown to members of the Butterflies pixalated quilts commenced at a recent Sew, Art and Chat meeting.
