The Federal Election and school holidays had a limited impact on attendance at the July meeting.  An annual feature  was the Biggest Morning Tea: the gold coin donation and the silent auction raised over $1100 for the Guild to donate to the Cancer Council. Thanks to everyone who contributed as either supplier or  purchaser or both.

Elaine demonstrated her skills to teach PUP  volunteers how to create a small rubbish bin.The photos below  show the group working on this project.

The July speaker was Lynda Worthington, the editor of Embellish magazine, from Artwear Publications.  Lynda briefly outlined the history and purpose of each of the suite of five textile magazines published by the company. Members were able to fossack for treasures in the past editions Lynda brought along to the meeting for us to peruse or purchase.

Members continue to provide wonderful quilts for Caring and Sharing as you can see from the photos shown below.

The formal part of the meeting concluded with a display of members work in the Show and Tell segment. I have included in this gallery samples from Art and Sew and also Andrea Taylor's quilts from the Tutor of Note Class, October 2015. There are some outstanding quilt examples displayed in the photos below:

Happy sewing,
