Despite a slightly chilly meeting venue, 91 members and 1 visitor had a pleasant and productive meeting. Four of our members (Maria, Pam, Elizabeth and Sharon) shared their quilting stories and displayed a range of the quilts they have created. As many do, they started their quilting journey in a class completing the same quilt project. It was fun for us to see the same pattern produced in a variety of colours. Over time their quilt styles diverged as each followed their different preferences. It was really interesting to see the development of their skills over time. Look at the gallery below to see examples of their work.

Pam took a PUPs class this month, helping participants create a pretty fabric flower brooch.

The August General meeting saw the award of long service badges to a number of people: the 10 year member recipients are shown below.

Congratulations were extended to our members who contributed to the recent Quilt Showcase 2019. The quality and variety of work our members create is quite outstanding.

Members continue to produce some lovely quilts for our Caring and Sharing program.  A few of the recent contributions are shown below.

The regular display of members' special projects in our Show and Tell feature are shown in the Gallery below;

The annual meeting comprises part of the August meeting.  The most sincere thanks of all members go to the retiring President (Lee Hanmer) and Treasurer (Bernie Murphy) for the wonderful work they have done over the last two years. Jann Haggart took the Chair  for the formal part of the annual meeting: the election of President, Treasurer, Secretary and  the general committee.  Thank you most sincerely to all the new committee members: without your 'stepping up' the Guild would not be able to continue its valuable work.

Until September,

Kerry Canty
