Report from our December Meeting
Our Christmas meeting took place on December 3. It was our last meeting until February and it was a good one. We had 136 members who came for lunch and Christmas fun.
Our Christmas Challenge this year was “Bird”.
The winner was Judith Hicks’ gorgeous Owl with Margery Payne’s Cheeky Chicken a close second. Here are the entries:
Following along with the bird theme of the day, the group project was to make bird ornaments. Felt birds and embellishments were provided.
The member interview this year was with Anthea Bradley, one of our most accomplished hand appliquers. Anthea let us in on her secret…work on one project at a time! Don’t think I will ever achieve that. Thank you, Anthea, for sharing with us. Have look at these works of art:
Christmas is not complete without a visit from Santa.
Later we all joined Deb Burt as she led us in our rendition of Christmas Carols.
Lunch was unbelievably yummy. Thank you Glenise for organising and thank you Elaine for the Christmas Cake.
We finished the day with a terrific Show and Tell for the end of the year. Click the image to zoom-in for a larger view.
Thank you everyone for a wonderful 2016 and I look forward to seeing you next year. We have a lot more planned for 2017....
