116 members were present at the May meeting to help celebrate the 39 birthday of the Guild. Suzanne Sampson made the birthday cake, which topically was designed to resemble a quilt. The photo gallery below shows the birthday cake being cut by Margaret MacGregor, one of the foundation members of the Guild.
The May shop was provided by the Button Ladies, an online button shop based in Traralgon. Members were very interested in the wide range of buttons, and particularly in the snap jewellery. The photos below give you a sample of their product range.
The speaker this month was Ramona Resurreccion. Ramona’s focuses on whole cloth quilts and has won a large number of awards for her quilts . Shedisplayed a number of her quilts to members. The photos below illustrate some of her work.
Members shared samples of curved piecing created at a recent Art and Show workshop.
As detailed elsewhere on this website a number of future activities were outlined - UFO Day, Sit & Knit and a Caring and Sharing work session - before the Caring and Sharing quilts created this month were displayed to members.
The meeting concluded with the Show and Tell segment - a display of members' special projects.
