When I picked up this book, I felt I had found a kindred spirit in Shirley. I too, spent time in Japan looking down. The manhole covers in different countries provide a wealth of design potential.
Shirley has taken this to the next level and created different types of quilts using manhole cover designs from around Japan. Some are appliqued, some are painted, and some are printed. The book provides a diverse set of possibilities.
The book provides the base templates which can be enlarged as desired. From there, let your imagination carry you along. I found this book full of inspiration for future projects.
