Our October meeting was very well attended which was a little surprising in view of the other important event taking place on the same day!
The shop featured delightful fabrics - lots and lots of fat quarters and groups of co-ordinated fabrics as well as threads and other notions. If you want to find out more, investigate Katie's Stitch by Stitch at Narre Warren at www.katiesstitchbystitch.com.au
Sarah Quilter explained the plan to develop a series of group quilts to display at Showcase next year. More detail about this project can be found elsewhere on this website. An example of a group quilt developed by the Art Quilt group can be seen in the Gallery below.
To introduce the new committee members to the wider guild, each committee member spoke briefly about their journey to quilting, how they found and/or became involved with Ps&Qs, their specific committee responsibilities and concluded with a display of some of their own work. Congratulations to Leslie and the team for this interesting and informative feature: it is great to put a face to a name, and to enjoy their quilting examples. Photos of the committee with their work are shown below in the gallery.
Unfortunately I had to leave before the Retreat, Caring and Sharing and Show and Tell sessions took place. Hopefully we may be able to source photos of these items for the November report.
Remember to book and pay for the catered Christmas lunch at the November meeting.
