Over 100 members and a handful of visitors had a most enjoyable time at the February meeting.  Our speaker was Leesa Chandler and the shop was Chandler's Cottage.  Leesa displayed some recent additions to the Under the Australian Sun range. It was interesting to see these fabrics made up into bags, quilts and other items. As well, Leesa presented some lovely examples of items entered in the Rotary Textile Challenge exhibition, part of the  2014 Tasmanian Craft Fair held at Deloraine. Some of these are pictured in the gallery below. Look for the quilt with the tree trunk made of genuine (discarded) snake skin!

Issues of space and storage resulted in a pruning of library items and these were readily purchased by a members who were happy to expand their quilting library as well as their stash. The trading table as usual proved very popular with members.

Leslie and Siska created a display of some of the interesting projects planned for the 2015 program of the 2015 Sew, Art and Chat group.

The meeting concluded with a wonderful display of show and tell work.

The gallery below includes photos of entries in the Rotary Challenge mentioned above, and additions to the Under the Australian Sun range of fabrics made by Robert Kaufman.
