The August meeting, incorporating the annual meeting of the Patchworkers' and Quilters Guild, was a great success.  107 members plus 5 visitors had a wonderful time.

The speaker was Jennifer Twitchett-Hyland from A Piece of Cloth. (For more details see www.apieceofcloth.com.au). Jennifer shared with us a wonderful collection of vintage and antique quilt tops and other items. Her narrative regarding the colours, textiles and design features of the quilt tops was most interesting and surely extended our awareness of these aspects of quilt history.  Photos of many of the items she shared with us are shown below:

Congratulations to the following members who received awards for their long term contribution to the Guild:

Members have been very generous in their quilt contributions which enables the Guild to provide quilts to many worthwhile groups and individuals.  Just a few of this month's contributions are shown below:

The variety and quality of quilts displayed in the 'Show and Tell' session was, as ever, a highlight of our meeting.

Congratulations to the committee members and office bearers who have been elected to office for another year.  The sincere thanks of all members go to each of them for the hard work they undertake for the benefit of the Guild and it's members. Examples of their organisation are shown with the Rajah Quilt exhibition, and the end-of-August bus trip
